THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a home in Salthill is almost €330,000, according to the latest data from Daft.ie.
Analysis of all properties advertised in the area in the last three months of 2017 puts the average list price at €327,767.
This puts Salthill in the top tier of neighbourhoods around Galway city and county in terms of property prices. Homes here are significantly more expensive on average than in Galway city centre (€257,000) or in neighbouring Knocknacarra (€301,000).
The average asking price across Galway city and county is roughly €216,000.
Prices in Salthill have risen by more than 70 per cent since their lowest level in 2012, when the average hovered around €190,000.
However, they have a long way to go still before approaching their Celtic Tiger peak. In 2006 prices in this area reached an incredible €494,000 on average.
