Woman and teenager due in court over assault on Scarlett Faulkner

The woman in her 40s and the girl were arrested on Thursday morning in connection with the incident in Co Tipperary.

A WOMAN AND a teenage girl arrested in connection with a serious assault on Scarlett Faulkner have been charged and are due to appear in court later.

The woman in her 40s and the girl were arrested on Thursday morning in connection with the incident in Co Tipperary, which took place on the R494 at Birdhill on Saturday evening.

They were held in garda stations in Co Tipperary. Today, they are expected to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court at approximately 5pm.

The victim of the assault, named locally this week as Scarlett Faulkner, remains in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital.

She was taken to the hospital after being initially airlifted from the scene by a Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter to University Hospital Limerick.
