Doctors JD and Turk return to screens next year Disney

Just what the doctors ordered...a teaser trailer for the Scrubs reboot

The beloved medical comedy returns to screens next February

SOME OF TV’S most famous doctors are returning to our screens in February and the first trailer has landed.

Scrubs, which originally ran from 2001 to 2009, has been rebooted for new audiences and will air on ABC from February 25 next year.

Zach Braff returns to Sacred Heart hospital as Dr JD Dorian with Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison also reprising their roles as Dr Elliot Reid and Dr Christopher Turk respectively.

ABC released the teaser trailer for the reboot yesterday, which also shows returning cast characters Dr Perry Cox (John C McGinley) nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes).

During it’s original run Scrubs became a cultural phenomenon averaging 15 million viewers per episode at it’s peak.

The official synopsis for the reboot says we will see JD and Turk “scrub in together for the first time in a long time”.

“Medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time.”

Other returning stars include Robert Maschio as Todd and Phill Lewis as Hooch.

ABC have also confirmed a new intern class is joining the show for the revival including Ava Bunn as Serena, Jacob Dudman as Asher, David Gridley as Blake, Layla Mohammadi as Amara, and Amanda Morrow as Dashana.

Show creator Bill Lawrence said he’s “thrilled to get the band back together”.

“Scrubs means so very much to me.”

In its original run Scrubs spent eight years at Sacred Heart followed by a one season spin off that followed some of the original cast to teaching at medical school.

The Scrubs reboot officially premieres on Wednesday February 25 on ABC and Hulu in the US. There’s no word yet on where Irish viewers can watch.
