Man (30s) dead and two people hospitalised following single-car crash in north Dublin

The collision occurred shortly beofre 6pm yesterday.

A MAN IN his 30s has died and two other people have been hospitalised following a single-vehicle crash in north Dublin yesterday evening.

The collision happened on Powerstown Road in Tyrrelstown shortly before 6pm.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, where a male passenger in his 30s was pronounced dead.

His body has been removed to the mortuary at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where a post-mortem examination will take place. The coroner has been notified.

A second passenger, a woman in her 30s, was brought to Connolly Hospital for treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was also taken to the same hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

The road was temporarily closed to allow for an examination by garda forensic collision investigators, but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and who were travelling on Powerstown Road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Saturday are asked to make it available to gardaí.

“Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said.
