Country music star Luke Combs headlines Slane this weekend - here's all you need to know

Combs will be joined by a number of special guests, including Irish band The Script.

AMERICAN COUNTRY MUSIC star Luke Combs is headlining Slane Castle this weekend, set to perform at the historic Co Meath venue in the summer of 2026.

The 36-year-old will be joined by a number of special guests, including Irish band The Script, for his “My kinda Saturday night” world tour.

Up to 80,000 people will see guest performers this Saturday and Sunday include young American country singer Ty Myers and country music trio The Castellows.

Who is Luke Combs exactly?

Combs, from Asheville, North Carolina, is regarded as one of the most successful artists in contemporary country music.

A two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and multi-platinum recording artist, last year saw him become the first country performer to achieve three Recording Industry Association of America (RIIA) Diamond-certified singles, each surpassing ten million units sold.

His Grammy-nominated single Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma reached number one on US country radio last year, extending his record to a whopping 53 cumulative weeks at the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Combs is currently touring across the US and is expected to bring his full-scale stadium show to Ireland for the 2026 event.

But he is well known too for his acclaimed 2023 cover of Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car, which was named Song of the Year at the Country Music Awards.

Fans can also expect performances of hits such as Beautiful Crazy, Beer Never Broke My Heart.

Traffic plans

Traffic diversions will be in place, with a major garda policing plan in operation for the duration of the concert weekend.

Priority will be given to official public transport operators and fans are strongly advised to use these routes in and out.

According to gardaí, from 2.30pm on Saturday 18 July all roads into Slane will be closed.

These road closures will remain in place until approximately 2.00 a.m. on Sunday 19 July when the concert is over and all patrons have safely left.

On Sunday, the roads into Slane will close again at 12.30pm. These road closures will remain in place until approximately 2:00 a.m. on Monday 20 July when the concert is over and all patrons have safely left.

Gardaí will be on duty at key junctions to stop and redirect traffic where necessary.

No parking will be permitted on roadsides and cars will be towed away.

Disabled car parking is provided within the VIP car park off the N51 adjacent to the Event site. This car park can be accessed via Navan. Prior permission should be obtained from the concert promoters MCD to avail of these car parking facilities.

Patrons travelling from Dublin on Bus Eireann and Marathon will travel towards Slane on the Dublin Road (N2) and passengers will disembark at the Green Bus Depot (Fennor Cross).

Anyone travelling on Bus Éireann from Drogheda will travel towards Blue Bus Park at Grasslands.

Patrons travelling on Marathon Coaches from Navan will travel to Slane and passengers will disembark at the Red Bus Depot (Roadstone).

For anyone getting to the music venue by car and taxi, concert-goers travelling on the M1 Motorway from Dublin will exit at Drogheda North / Slane (Junction 10) and travel towards Slane on the Drogheda Road and park or drop off in the Pink Car Park (Drogheda Road).

People travelling on the M1 Motorway from the North using their car and taxi will exit at the Collon/Dunleer exit (Junction 12) and travel towards Slane via Collon on the N2 to the Blue Car Park and park or drop off.

Patrons travelling from Dublin on the N2 will travel towards Slane to the Green Cark Park (Dublin Rd/ McGruders Cross) and park or drop off.

Anyone travelling via Navan by private car or taxis will travel towards Slane on the Navan Road (N51). Private Cars will park at the Red Car Park 1 and 2 (Navan Road). Taxis and private cars dropping off patrons will do so at Red Car Park 2 on the Navan Road (N51).

No private cars or taxis will be permitted to travel to Slane using the Kells Road (R163).
