1. #DISTRESSED MORTGAGES: AIB is to grant the Irish Mortgage Holders Organisation (IMHO) €150,000 towards the running of a new third-party body that will advise distressed mortgage holders. The move is part of the bank’s attempts to increase engagement with distressed borrowers.
2. #TV3: The TV3 Group which represents TV3 and 3e, reported profits of €1.4 million for 2012. That is up 52 per cent on 2011’s profit of €900,000.
3. #SAME-SEX MARRIAGE: The Justice Minister Alan Shatter indicated the vote on gay marriage may be delayed until early 2015, stating it might be best to keep 2014 referendum-free.
4. #CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL: The National Trust charity, An Taisce has written to the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste with its concerns over the site of the planned National Children’s Hospital, stating that the project will fall foul of the planning laws, as it won’t be co-located with a maternity hospital.
5. #AER LINGUS: Cabin crew in Aer Lingus voted in favour of industrial action today by a margin of 91 per cent.
