IF A TASTE of the country while staying close to the city is what you’re after, check out this development called Brookfield in the north Dublin village of Malahide. The Cleggan is a collection of semi-detached homes that are surrounded by woodland, yet the Dart station and everything Malahide has to offer is just a short stroll away.
And, while the images are of the showhome, it gives a good indication of what’s in store.
These four-bed family homes span three storeys and are located near Malahide Castle and Gardens, the 800 year old medieval demesne.
What sets these homes apart are the extremely high tech touches throughout. They have a focus on energy efficiency and health. Aptly named The Healthy House package, this includes a voice activated lighting system and smart sockets on the ground floor as the it’s linked to a Google Home Hub and two Google Home Minis.
In the kitchen, there’s a touch-free bin along with a water filtration tap and antimicrobial worktop. There’s also no shortage of storage in these kitchens. Colour may be the main decision you need to make seeing as each space is fitted with a Quartz Sinquastone countertop and all standard appliances along with a wine cooler.
And as for extra cleanliness, the bathrooms have touch-free additions like a sensor activated toilet, tap and light – no doubt these homes have been designed with an aim to halt the spread of Covid-19 and other infections.
The main bathroom as well as the en suite has a chrome heated towel rail and buyers have a choice of the Italian porcelain tiles that will decorate the spaces.
These homes also come with a Nest thermostat for heating and hot water that new homeowners can access remotely.
Seeing as they have PV Photovoltaic mounted solar panels and wall, roof and floor insulation, the houses have an A3 BER, too.
Each one of the back gardens is seeded and includes a paved patio area ideal for outdoor entertaining.
The coastal town of Malahide is just 14 km from Dublin city centre making the Cleggan an ideal family home that doesn’t hold back on space while making the daily commute a breeze.
And if the four-beds still aren’t big enough and you’re willing to sit tight, there’ll be a collection of five-bed detached homes launched later this year.
