IF YOU’VE ALWAYS longed to have your own stretch of land but don’t want to be far removed from the capital, The Reask in Drogheda, Co Louth could be what you’re looking for.
Set on 36 acres of private and mature grounds, The Reask offers plenty to those with a green thumb, including prime agricultural lands laid out in six field divisions, farmyard buildings, raised beds, a herb garden and an orchard.
The residence is approached via electric gates and a eucalyptus tree-lined avenue, while an attractive selection of mature trees, shrubs and flower beds surround the property. A number of stone steps lead to the front door, with a terrace area to either side.
Inside, The Reask enjoys multiple period features, including antique fireplaces and solid hardwood flooring. To the left of the hallway, there’s a spacious drawing room with an impressive circular bay window with built-in seating. An open hearth fireplace adds a cosy feel, while double French doors open to the garden.
A formal dining room is further down the hall, with direct access to the kitchen. Here, there are terracotta tiles, wooden units and room for a large table. A utility room is to the side, with access to the laundry room, double garage and boiler house.
Another lounge is to the rear of the property, while the master bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and the family bathroom completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, there is another full-size bathroom and four double bedrooms, which each have garden views, plus a study area in the landing.
The Reask enjoys a convenient location of being less than a 10-minute drive from Drogheda town, with a selection of primary schools, secondary schools, sports clubs and amenities here. The rail service from the town means Connolly Station can be reached in about an hour, while the nearby M1 provides easy access to both Dublin and Belfast.
