Three arrested as gardaí seize drugs and two weapons in Co Kerry

Two men, aged in their 30s and 40s, and a woman in her 30s were arrested.

THREE PEOPLE HAVE been arrested after gardaí seized over €165,000 worth of cannabis, €1,300 of LSD, a suspected firearm and a knife yesterday.

A vehicle was stopped and searched by gardaí as the result of an intelligence-led operation in Killarney yesterday afternoon.

Cannabis valued at €5,000, a knife, and a “number of electronic devices of evidential value” were seized.

Two men, aged in their 30s and 40s, and a woman in her 30s were arrested. They are currently detained at garda stations in the Kerry division.

Follow-up searches led to the seizure of suspected cannabis worth over €160,000, as well as the LSD, suspected firearm, electronic devices, and equipment including a weighing scales and packaging equipment.

The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis, gardaí said.

Investigations remain ongoing.
