A MAN HAS been seriously injured in a fall from scaffolding at a site next to a city centre Dublin street.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 1.20pm this afternoon after what has been described as a “workplace accident”.

The street, located just off the major shopping area of Grafton Street, was closed as emergency services worked to stabilise the man.

Speaking to TheJournal.ie a Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) spokesman said that the man is now stable in St James’s Hospital.

“Emergency services responded to an incident at a building site on Trinity Street at 1.20pm today,” the spokesman said.

A man had apparently fallen between 15 and 20 feet from scaffolding at the site.
He had multiple serious injuries and was treated on scene.
Once the man was stabilised he was removed to hospital.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) have been notified of the incident.

The site is now closed as gardaí conduct an investigation.
