THE FEBRUARY BANK holiday is just around the corner, but have you ever wanted a few more public holidays?
Well, People Before Profit is bringing forward legislation to introduce two extra bank holidays, with suggested dates being the last Monday in September and the last Monday in November.
Dublin South-West TD Paul Murphy says Ireland is lagging behind other European countries with just 11 paid public holidays, in comparison to Germany and Sweden which have 13 paid public holidays, while Italy has 14 and Austria has 15.
So today we’re asking: Should we get two more bank holidays?
