TWO MEN WERE arrested last night following an armed robbery at a supermarket in Clarehall, Dublin 17.
At around 10.25pm two men entered the supermarket, one armed with a knife. They threatened, tied up and assaulted two members of staff, whose injuries are not believed to be serious.
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and both raiders fled on foot. The staff members raised the alarm and a garda unit was immediately on the scene.
Two men matching the description of the raiders were stopped nearby and an amount of cash was also recovered. Both men were arrested and brought to Cooloock Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The scene of the robbery is preserved pending a technical examination.
Investigations are continuing.
