Man arrested in Dublin Airport in connection with Ballymun murder investigation

Yesterday the man who was found dead in a Dublin apartment was identified as 31-year-old Kamal El Habsati.

A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested by Gardaí investigating the murder of Kamal El Habsati, who was found dead in an apartment in Ballymun on 5 December.

Gardaí said the man was arrested this evening in the north Dublin area and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act,1984, at Ballymun Garda Station. TheJournal.ie understands the man was arrested in Dublin Airport.

The body of 31-year-old Kamal El Habsati, a Dutch citizen of Moroccan descent was found on the first floor of the Linnbhla apartment complex at Santry Cross, Ballymun in North Dublin.

It is believed he may have been dead for several days before being found.

The Dutchman had been living and working in Dublin for some time and shared the apartment with a male housemate, who Gardaí were trying to locate.
