    What exactly are “dissident activities”?

Dissident activities would include procurement of weapons and ammunition, ingredients for bomb making (nitrogen fertiliser, plastics etc) and the planning of terrorist acts. Planning of kidnapping and robberies to fund said terrorist acts. Think of Belfast circa 1982 and you will get the idea.

What I would love to ask them is what exactly they expect to gain? Brits out? They want out. The 6 counties of Northern Ireland have 60% of the employed work force in the civil service all subsidised by the UK tax payer. They have a devolved government and a police force that is a fraction away from proportional representation. There is also a proposal for a vote on the separation of the North in 2016. What exactly do these “dissident” morons hope to gain. Treat them like the common criminals they are and lock them up.

Thanks for the answer. Didn’t know “dissidents” equal “terrorists”, especially as now one could be labeled “a dissident” for just opposing, say, ACTA.
