Two men due in court in connection with serious assault of man in Co Tipperary

The assault happened in Knockane shortly after 9pm on Saturday.

TWO MEN ARE due in court this morning after being charged in connection with the serious assault of a man in Co Tipperary. 

The assault happened in Knockane shortly after 9pm on Saturday. 

The victim, a man aged in his 40s, was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries. 

Two men, both in their 20s, were later arrested in connection with the investigation. They have since been charged. 

They are expected to appear before Dungarvan District Court this morning. 

A garda spokesperson said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
