VOTERS IN ENGLAND, Scotland and Wales will head to the polls today to have their say in the UK local elections.
They will choose who they want to represent them in the Scottish and Welsh parliaments, as well as in councils across England. Today’s elections mark the biggest in the UK since the general election that brought Keir Starmer to power in 2024.
Nearly 5,000 council seats across England are to be filled today, 2,550 of which are currently held by Labour.
With that, some pollsters have predicted that Starmer’s party could lose 75% of the council seats it is defending.
