Texts between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively unsealed as part of lawsuit against Justin Baldoni

Lively and Baldoni have been locked in a legal battle since December 2024 when Lively sued the actor.

TEXT MESSAGES BETWEEN singer Taylor Swift and actress Blake Lively have been unsealed as part of Lively’s lawsuit against actor Justin Baldoni and his company Wayfarer for alleged sexual harassment on the set of the 2024 movie It Ends With Us.

Lively, 38, and Baldoni, 41, have been locked in a legal battle since December 2024 when Lively sued the actor. The New York Times ran an article in the same month on the complaint.

In response, Baldoni made a $400M (€348m) counter lawsuit against the publication, Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, however, it was ended by a US judge last November when Baldoni failed to meet a deadline to continue his claim.

The messages between longterm friends Swift, 36, and Lively are now public court records and have been shared extensively online, revealing conversations between the pair about their friendship and someone thought to be Baldoni.

Swift’s last name is not included in the texts, but her full name is mentioned in court documents.

Some of the messages unsealed today reveal how lively was struggling with fears over her private messages becoming public.

“I’ve become digitally paranoid. I don’t know if you experienced that with phone calls after what happened to you, but after the thousands of text messages that weren’t meant for me that I’ve been reading, I’ve internalized that everything digital may be public,” one of the messages from December 2024 read.

The topic came up because Lively told Swift she felt distance had grown between the pair and Swift said it was because Lively’s messages had become impersonal.

“It’s felt like I was reading a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees. You said the word ‘we’ like 18 times. And it feels awful to be in any way critical of any way you process what you’ve been going through but I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal-speaking friend who talks to me as herself,” Swift said.

Lively acknowledged she was struggling with paranoia due to the situation with Baldoni.

“This fucking guy and what he did to me gave me an identity crisis. Legitimately. The thing that spooked me most in all this though, wasn’t the bad guys being bad guys, it was the good guys, my lifelong friends –allies to women- who quietly dipped,” she said.

“Fuck that guy and fuck his whole gaggle of supervillains”.

In another message, Swift sent Lively a screenshot of a post by PEOPLE about Baldoni claiming he has a sexually traumatising history.

“I think this bitch knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin,” Swift said.

“It rings different when he doesn’t end the story by saying ‘Did I always listen when they said no? No.’ like he did with me. But that must not’ve tested well in the focus group,” Lively said.

The pair discussed the fact that Baldoni was due to be honoured at the Vital Voices for Women event. He received a solidarity award at the time which was rescinded in December 2024.

Speaking ahead of him receiving the award, Swift said: “This is so disgusting and I hate that he’s clever about this shit”.

“Can you imagine feeling as confident as these predators that you’re going to always get away with it,” Lively said.

Swift described the situation as a “horror film no one knows is taking place”.

Lively’s case against Baldoni is set to go to trial in May.

None of the parties involved have yet publicly commented on the documents.
