There's an unsettled week of weather on the way (with plenty of wind and rain)

Met Éireann said that today will be dry with bright and sunny spells.

THERE WILL BE plenty of wind and rain in the coming days for most of the country.

Met Éireann said that while today will be dry with bright and sunny spells, the weather will turn unsettled and remain that way for most of the week.

Outbreaks of rain will develop in the west and southwest later this afternoon, which will extend eastwards tonight. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees.

Many people will have a cloudy and wet start tomorrow, with widespread outbreaks of rain and drizzle that will gradually clear through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will reach highs of 5 to 9 degrees.

Tomorrow night will be clear, cold and dry, with lows of -2 to 2 degrees with patches of frost and ice forming.

On Tuesday, areas of fog will clear through the morning as it becomes breezy. Outbreaks of rain will turn heavy at times, with highs of 6 to 9 degrees. It will remain cloudy and breezy that night, with limited clear spells developing along with scattered showers.

Met Éireann is forecasting a breezy day on Wednesday, with outbreaks of rain that will turn heavy and moderate to gusty southeasterly winds.

The forecaster said current indications show dry and bright conditions initially on Thursday, though a further spell of wet and blustery weather is due to move in from the Atlantic. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.
