MET ÉIREANN HAS warned of strong and gusty southwest winds in the west of the country on Sunday afternoon and evening.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for 4pm on Sunday for counties Clare, Kerry, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. The warning is in place until 10pm on Sunday.
The strong winds could bring wave overtopping, fallen trees and branches and difficult travelling conditions, Met Éireann warned this afternoon.
Today, Northern Ireland is still under a yellow snow and ice warning, with icy patches and hill snow expected tonight and tomorrow morning.
Met Éireann has forecast a cold start to the weekend tomorrow, with frost, ice and fog expected to be slow to clear in some areas. Scattered wintry showers have been forecast for this evening and overnight.
However, the weather is set to turn milder from Sunday, with highs of 8-12 degrees, Met Éireann has forecast.
