What did Andrea Corr call her new daughter?

Here’s a hint – she didn’t go down the unusual baby name route.

SINGER ANDREA CORR has given birth to her first child – but she hasn’t given her daughter a name like Apple, Lulu or Brooklyn.

Instead of going down the la-la-land unusual name route, she has named her daughter after her mother, calling her Jean.

A message on her Twitter account announced the birth to her fans:

Corr married Brett Desmond in 2009. She is the third Corr to have a child, with her sisters Sharon and Caroline themselves mothers. The Irish Independent reports that Sharon said there were “tears shed” when Andrea revealed her daughter would be named after their late mother.

Jean Corr passed away in 1999 of a rare lung disease. She was 57 years old.

Last week, it was announced that Peaches Geldof had given birth to her first child – and called him Astala, a traditional Jewish name.  His full title? Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof.
