Witnesses sought after man injured in assault

A man in his twenties was injured during the assault.

GARDAÍ ARE SEEKING witnesses to an early-morning assault that occurred in Dublin’s city centre today.

The serious assault occurred on Camden Street Upper in Dublin.

The incident happened shortly after 4am when the injured man and two of his friends were involved in a row with three men, believed to be in their 20s.

The injured man, a French national believed to be in his mid-twenties, was taken to St James’ Hospital with a head injury. The three suspects left the scene in the direction of Rathmines.

The scene of the incident is sealed off for forensic technical examination and a Garda investigation is underway.

Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the Camden Street area between 4am and 5am to contact Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 666 9400.
