Woman arrested after car intercepted by gardaí found to have €275,000 stashed inside suitcase

The car was intercepted and stopped in the Ballsbridge area of Dublin 4.

A WOMAN IN her 30s has been arrested after a car she was driving was found to contain €275,000 stashed inside a suitcase.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting an organised crime group involved in drug trafficking and money laundering in the Dublin area, a car was today intercepted and stopped in the Ballsbridge area of Dublin 4.

Inside of the vehicle, a suitcase containing €275,000 in cash was discovered.

The sole occupant of the car, a woman in her 30s, was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Region.

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing and that further updates will follow.
