1. #HAMBURGSeventy-six police officers have been injured in clashes with protesters in Hamburg ahead of the G20 summit where US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will have their first face to face encounter.

2. #FOSTER CARE: A nine-year-old boy has been put in a residential home despite being placed in a loving foster family who wanted to keep him if they could get extra supports.

3. #CONCERNED: Leo Varadkar has said that the issue of evidence given by gardaí in the Jobstown trial conflicting with video evidence is something that should be looked at by the garda commissioner and senior garda management. The Taoiseach says he would be concerned if it turned out that gardaí had misled the trial. However Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has said that he feels Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is “being unfair to gardaí” following a TV interview last night.

4. #FIVE YEARS ON: The case of Pat Heeran, who disappeared in 2011, was raised in the Dáil last year as an example of alleged garda malpractice. It took five years for the missing person investigation to be upgraded to a murder inquiry.

5. #BACK ON: A Pennsylvania judge ruled that Bill Cosby would go back on trial for alleged sexual assault on 6 November, after a first trial ended with a deadlocked jury.

6. #TRAFFICKING: Local residents are planning dramatic protests ahead of upcoming Coldplay and U2 concerts at Croke Park to highlight a number of massage parlours on Dublin’s northside that they allege are operating as brothels.

7. #SUPERBUG: The World Health Organisation has said that gonorrhoea is ‘sometimes impossible’ to treat due to antibiotic-resistance.
