AER LINGUS IS considering an increased offer for the company from IAG valuing it at €1.3 billion.
The decision to accept the offer would be down to the Aer Lingus shareholders, of whom Ryanair and the Irish Government have a veto as the largest of those.
The protection of Aer Lingus slots at Heathrow has been prioritised by the Government as part of any deal.
The Aer Lingus brand would be kept, just as Iberia remain Spain’s national carrier as part of the IAG group.
