charges dropped

Irish nanny Aisling Brady McCarthy has arrived home

Her flight landed at Shannon Airport at 6:15 this morning.

AISLING BRADY MCCARTHY has arrived back in Ireland.

The Irish nanny was accused of murdering a one-year-old girl in Boston and spent two-and-a-half years in jail after being arrested in January 2013.

On Monday, the charges against McCarthy were dropped after the state medical examiner found the child had past medical issues and may have had some type of undiagnosed disorder.

The 37-year-old Cavan woman had pleaded not guilty.

Her flight landed at Shannon Airport at 6:15 this morning and it’s reported that she left the airport without speaking to reporters.

McCarthy had been living illegally in the USA since 2002.

According to the Boston Globe she was arrested by federal immigration officials to begin deportation procedures after the criminal charges were dropped.

Yesterday, McCarthy’s lawyer said her client’s life has been ruined, “This was an absolute nightmare. It changes a person. She can’t get those years back.”
