#Áras11 diary: Where the candidates will be today

AS THE CAMPAIGN for the presidential election continues, check out where you can meet the candidates today:

Mary Davis will visit Cork today. She’s headed first for Janssen Biologics in Ringaskiddy at 9.30am, then Scoil Triest in Glanmire at 11.30am and Scotts Restaurant in the city at 12.45pm. At 2.30pm she’ll visit the Mercy Hospital, followed by the Wilton Shopping Centre at 3.30pm, the Mahon Shopping Centre at 4.45pm and UCC at 7pm.

Seán Gallagher is headed for Kerry, where he will visit the Kerry Parents and Friends Association in Killarney at 1.30pm followed by a walkabout in the town at 2.30om. At 3.30pm he’ll be in Tralee, then Kerry Technology Park at 4.15pm, the National Folk Theatre at 5.30pm and the Listowel Arms Hotel in Listowel at 7pm.

Michael D Higgins will visit the Adult Learning Centre on Dublin’s Mountjoy Square at 12pm, then the GPO and Moore Street at 1.30pm. At 5pm he’ll appear with George Hook on Newstalk radio, before attending the Des Bishop book launch on Dawson Street at 6.30pm. At 7.30pm he will attend an event for Louise Parkinson Asmal at the Mansion House.

Martin McGuinness will be touring Longford, Westmeath and Meath. He’ll start off in Longford at 9am, before heading to Ballymahon at 10.15. At 11am he is due in Athlone, followed by visits to Mullingar at 1pm, Athboy at 2.45pm, Kells at 3.20pm, Navan at 4.20pm and Trim at 5.30pm. In the evening he’ll be attending a supporters’ rally in the Nightsbrook Hotel.

Gay Mitchell will visit Galway, where he’ll be canvassing with Enda Kenny from 12.30pm. At 2.30pm he will head to the mart in Tuam, then Ballinasloe at 4pm.

David Norris will canvass on Henry Street and Moore Street in Dublin from 9.45am to 12pm. He will then head for Portlaoise at 1pm, then Tullamore at 3pm and Cashel at 5pm.

Dana Rosemary Scallon will be appearing on Today with Pat Kenny at 10am. At 1pm she is due to visit Monaghan town, followed by Dundalk at 3pm and Drogheda at 4.30pm.
