Three arrested over €1 million cannabis, cocaine and heroin hauls

One man has already been charged and the other two are remain in garda custody today.

GARDAÍ IN DROGHEDA, Co Louth, have arrested three men after seizures of more than €1 million worth of cannabis, cocaine and heroin

The arrests were made as part of an intelligence led operation by gardaí from the national drugs unit. A car was stopped in the Drogheda area yesterday afternoon and a 28-year-old was arrested and a quantity of drugs seized.

As part of a follow-up operation this morning, a second car was stopped and an apartment searched. Two men – one in his 30s and the second in his 50s – were arrested and a further quantity of drugs was seized.

In total, cannabis herb and plants, cocaine and heroin with a total estimated street value in excess of €1 million was seized.

The 28-year-old is appearing in court this afternoon charged in connection with the seizure. The other two men remain in custody at Drogheda Garda Station.
