Barack Obama has been showing off his taste in music

There is a bit of Irish representation on the list.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA is known for being probably a little bit ‘cooler’ than most of his predecessors.

And that has been reflected in the pick of the tunes he has been listening to this summer.

The President has released two Spotify playlists of 20 songs that he has been listening to while on his break at Martha’s Vineyard, an affluent holiday destination that has been popular among a number of former Presidents.

The list was tweeted on Friday and contains a pretty eclectic mix of tracks.

On his first playlist, entitled ‘The President’s Summer Playlist: Day’, artists included are Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, The Temptations and Coldplay.

His second playlist, entitled ‘The President’s Summer Playlist: Night’, features music from Al Green, Nina Simone and Miles Davis.

There is even some Irish representation.

Van Morrision features with his 1970 classic ‘Moondance’, while Aoife O’Donovan, a singer-songwriter who is of Irish extraction and spent time here as a child, is also featured.
