Motorcyclist dies after bike crashes with car in Cork

The man was aged in his 20s.

A MOTORCYCLIST HAS died after his bike collided with a car in Cork this evening.

The crash happened in the Lackenroe area of Glanmire in Co Cork at about 6pm this evening.

The male driver of the motorbike was aged in his 20s and he was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital.

The driver of the car was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

Gardaí say that the scene is currently preserved for a technical examination and that local diversions are in place.

Any witnesses to the collision are being asked to contact gardaí at Mayfield Garda Station on 021-4558510.
