Gardaí appeal for witnesses following Ronanstown murder

20-year-old man was shot dead in the gangland-style shooting yesterday evening. It was the second shooting in Dublin in less than 12 hours after an earlier non-fatal attack in Cabra.

THE MAN SHOT dead in the Clondalkin area last night has been named as 20-year-old Dean Johnson.

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation after he was shot while sitting in a car near his home on Moorfield Avenue in Clondalkin shortly after 9pm, reports RTE. Johnson was was pronounced dead at Tallaght Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that a briefing will be held in Ronanstown at noon today.

Earlier yesterday two men were injured in a shooting in a pub in Cabra in Dublin. A lone gunman entered the Cabra House establishment on Fassaugh Avenue at lunchtime and opened fire. A 23-year-old man was shot in the shoulder, while another man, aged 40, was slightly injured.
