Girl, 21 months, killed in Tallaght road accident

The toddler was struck by a car in the Ardmore Walk residential area at 5:30pm yesterday evening.

A 21-MONTH-OLD girl has died after being struck by a car in southwest Dublin.

The girl was fatally injured when she struck by a car at about 5:30pm yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at Ardmore Walk, a residential area outside Tallaght, close to Citywest.

The girl was taken to Tallaght Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and Garda forensic collision investigators are due at the scene later today.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Gardaí in Tallaght at (01) 666 6000, the Garda Confidential line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

  Don’t want to get off the subject but I believe most people are hitting the red thumbs by mistake, they should be on the left of the screen, I often hit the thumbs while just scrolling down, sort it out Journal, it looks like people are red thumbing lovely human comments on such a terrible tragedy,

First up, R.I.P to the poor little soul, and condolences to all involved. Terrible tragedy to lose one so young.
@ Paul Doyle. I think youre correct about the inadvertent red thumbing. I sometimes touch one in error. Could The Journal maybe look at 2 options to maybe help this matter which causes so much upset to people on so many comments sections ?
1. Maybe an ” undo ” button on at least the red thumbs ?
2. As the majority of people scroll with their right hand , maybe shift the thumbs over to the left of the screen which will make it a lot harder to touch one in error.
Just a couple of ideas which may help, hopefully.
