HSE issues warning over low dosage flu vaccines

A number of people who recently received the flu vaccine may have received too-low a dose and will need to be re-vaccinated, according to the HSE.

THE HSE HAS issued a statement warning that some patients who recently received the flu vaccine at pharmacies may need to return for a second dosage as the first was too-low a dose to be effective in adults.

The HSE understands that pharmacies will be making contact with those affected.

The issue was highlighted by the National Immunisations Advisory Committee, which warned that some dosages were administered that were less than the recommended level.

The pharmacy regulator, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, has been contacted to ascertain the extent of the problem and to determine exactly how many patients are involved, but it is understood that a few hundred people could be affected.

The HSE says those patients should be re-vaccinated as soon as possible. It notes that there are no safety issues regarding re-vaccination, but warns that patients are likely to have a sore arm for a few days afterwards.

The HSE told TheJournal.ie this evening that anyone who is worried about their vaccine should contact their pharmacist.

Michael, sounds good on paper there but you are seriously misled.

    Go here; http://www.imb.ie/images/uploaded/documents/Vaccines_List_November_2011.pdf

Then go to the manufacturer (not the IMB cos you get a watered down version) of each vaccine and go to NONCLINICAL TOXICOLOGY

It will say: ___~Vaccine has not been evaluated for any carcinogenic or mutagenic potential, or impairment
    of fertility.

    Reply
  • Just the government watering down vaccines to save money I guess

    Reply
  • And just as easily they could have administered too high a dose. If anything happens to you, they are exempt from paying you any damages. Convenient.

The swine flu vaccine is a con. All these pharmaceutical companies are literally making a killing selling these vaccines which in most cases are not only uneffective but will give you the flu.

No vaccine EVER has been tested for mutagenic or carcinogenic properties.

If you are thinking of taking it, at least research the ingredients and why this vaccine has never been properly tested.

    • Wrong. The flu injections pharmacies have been using contain only one adult dose which can be halved for a paediatric dose by squirting half out so without using another syringe, nobody could end up overdosed.

    • Man, this is the REGULAR yearly flu vaccine, changed every year to suit the emergent strains. Swine flu is SO 2010.

    • @Feargal Wow, they have it worked out so meticulously.. .. squirt half out, yes, I will be lining my kids up tomorrow for it. Tell that to the kids with narcolepsy or to the ones that dies from taking it.

Whatever happened to a good diet, building up a good immune system and fresh air.

      Reply
    • Why do you assume they are getting their info from a quack website?
Vaccines contain thimerosal (which contains mercury – a neurotoxin), aluminium (linked to Alzheimer’s), and a detergent called PEG10, injected direct into your bloodstream, no filters whatsoever.

You may find the Cochrane Collaborations meta analysis of flu vaccines interesting. They went over 20 years of research into flu vaccines and showed that even when the strains are perfectly matched (which is rare – its kinda like weather forecasting, not an exact science) they will prevent 4 cases of flu per 100 vaccinations.
They have no effect on secondary infections such as pneumonia or passing it on (the primary reason for their use).

The Cochrane Collaboration also pointed out that the majority of positive studies were industry funded or had stated conflicts of interest, whereas almost all of the independent research showed less than impressive results. This indicates yet more pharmaceutical RCT manipulation – which is a widespread problem (there are over 600,000 ways a drug trial can be rigged)
Not to mention that no long term studies have ever been conducted, the public IS the long term study.

As for building immunity, optimum blood serum levels of vitamin D have been demonstrated to be 800% more effective than the flu vaccine, but you will not obtain these levels from food or taking just the RDA. You need UVB light or a good quality high dose D3 supplement and blood tests to monitor your levels. Vitamin D is actually a hormone which controls the activation of the bodies own antimicrobial peptides which work with the immune system to kill cold and flu viruses. Then you get to build proper immunity, as in the case of the massively overhyped swine flu – if you got the vaccine you are still susceptible to any other strands in the A strain, if you got the flu, you developed your own immunity to several strands of the A strain..

    • Shanti Om, Mercury compounds are no longer used in vaccines. Even when they were it was in a compound that was quickly excreted from the body and harmless. Your attempt to inject scare tactics is totally dishonest. Your other comments are also rubbish.

High doses of Vitamin D have recently been shown to be useless AND dangerous.

The one good thing is the human gene pool is improved by the anti-vaccine wackos dying off because of their stupidity.

      Reply
    • “Vitamin D is actually a hormone” – attempting to sound smart FAIL. 600,000 ways to tamper with a drug trial? Did you count them all yourself?

Some good points there hidden by utter tripe, but nice effort.

      Reply
    • Oh, and the flu vaccine is given to stop at risk patients from dying from flu. A flu vaccine preventing 4 cases of potentially life threatening influenza is good enough for the elderly who are treated, and their families

      Reply
    • Actually, thimerosal has not been removed from all vaccines. Aluminium does remain, as an adjuvant (and if you think there is or ever was such a thing as a “safe” level of mercury to be injected directly into your blood stream then you are mistaken)

If you wanna call quack about the amount of fraud in medicine, don’t take my word for it, look up “Classical Peer Review: An Empty Gun” by Richard Smith, “Harlot Plc: An amalgamation of the worlds two oldest professions” Sackett & Oxmann, any of John Ionnadis’ work.. Or let Dr Ben Goldacre explain it to you over on ted.com

As for the vitamin D is dangerous – pull the other one, most of the northern hemisphere is deficient – they’re even putting that message out to the general public, it does need to be measured in blood serum levels, but you can manufacture up to 20,000iu in 15 mins full body exposure to UVB light, so the supplement levels are most certainly safe. RDA levels of intake show no demonstrable effects on blood serum levels – you can even test that one out for yourself.
(also, you need to distinguish – was it nature identical vitamin D they pushed that scare story with? No, it was a man made vitamin isolate – a very different thing and your body knows it)

And yes, vitamin D is technically a hormone. Calciferol. It is manufactured in your skin upon contact with sunlight, it was mis-classified as a vitamin by accident when the initial studies were done during the war due to its effect on rickets. It was later discovered to be a hormone, one vital to every body system.

    • Re Thimerosal. I’ve already pointed out, and you ignored the point, that Mercury is not in vaccines, and never was. It was a mercury compound, a totally different matter altogether. You and your anti-science ilk shove the Mercury word out to try and frighten people who know no better. It has been phased out although there is no evidence of harm because of the disinformation spread by quacks such as yourself.

As for Vitamin D, “Kerrie Sanders of the University of Melbourne in Australia and colleagues studied 2,256 women ages 70 and older to see if giving them a big dose of vitamin D once a year would reduce their risk of falls and fractures. That’s a big problem for the elderly, and there’s plenty of good evidence that vitamin D is vital for strong bones…. So the researchers were surprised to discover that the women who got the vitamin D experienced 15 percent more falls and 26 percent more fractures than those who got a placebo”

Can I ask you do you think the MMR vaccine causes Autism?

      Reply
    • Oh dear William.. Next you will be saying that there is no sodium in sodium chloride.. Thimerosal is up to 50% mercury. Excuse me if you think mixing it with something else and then injecting it into your blood stream is safe.

That study you posted – a prime example of poor study parameters, and the fact that doctors do not recieve nutritional training. One large dose per year is ludicrous. It’s a fat soluble vitamin which is stored yes – but excess is harmful – hence why I said blood serum levels must be monitored. up to 4,000iu per day is required, but a maximum per day is also advised, it just happens to vary from person to person. EXCESSIVE blood serum levels can be harmful, but you need to be taking about 30,000iu DAILY to reach them..
And who funded the study? What controls did they use? We already know they used a faulty dose.

I guess you didn’t check out the articles I mentioned.. Just watch Ben Goldacres ted talk about epidemiology.. He mentions the 600,000 ways to fake a trial, harlot plc explains some of the methods, classical peer review estimates 99% of what makes it into med journals is bogus, John Ionnadis has been writing about if for years. They’re even trying to have ghostwriting made illegal because of the amount of it that goes on. It’s one of the reasons the Cohcrane Group exists at all.
(ps, they’re the ones who sad the flu vaccine was bogus)

And no, vaccines do not cause Autism. Autistic persons have a rare intestinal disorder, usually not recognised at the time of vaccination, and worsened by it. This was what the actual studies said, it’s the media who put in the link, in that sensationalist way they always do..

Please, learn about how medical research is done, and manipulated, before you start screaming quack.

      Reply
    • Shanti Om, your knowledge of Chemistry is as obviously nonexistent as your knowledge of vaccines. Mercury in a compound is TOTALLY different in its effects on the human body than alone. Mercury alone would damage you but in a compound it has no effect. You were rather silly to mention Salt as an example. Sodium when dropped in water explodes! If you were to drink a glass of water and eat Sodium you could blow up! In Salt it’s harmless. This clearly shows your attitude to Mercury is ludicrous.

Several recent studies show that taking excess Vitamin D is dangerous. I am well aware about how studies work. Quacks are always taking isolated studies and trying to make an issue with them.

Your knowledge of MMR is also wrong. This is simply not true, “Autistic persons have a rare intestinal disorder, usually not recognised at the time of vaccination, and worsened by it”. All of Wakeman’s “studies” have been shown not alone to be wrong but faked and he has been struck off the medical register. You are quoting a discredited quack.

One study says, “We could identify no report that describes the prevalence of gastrointestinal disorders in a representative group of children with a diagnosis of autism compared with appropriate controls. Thus, we found no evidence upon which to base a confident conclusion as to whether gastrointestinal symptoms are more common in children with than without autism. ”

      Reply
    • Would you please ditch the straw men?
I didn’t mention Wakefield, YOU did. There are plenty of studies that back up the gastrointestinal issue with autism, in fact, the majority of autistic spectrum patients are on restricted diets due to their inability to digest certain foods.

You stated yourself, EXCESS vitamin D in the blood stream is harmful. I specifically stated that blood serum levels needed to be monitored – and you ignored that. The amount you would need to supplement to achieve this is quite high and varies from person to person.

You put forth a poorly devised study where ONE large dose was given per year, which would obviously lead to excess serum levels at the start, anyone who understands nutrition realises that it should be taken in measured, regular doses to maintain levels without excess..
And you accuse others of cherry picking??

You’re still ignoring the elephant in the room. The Cochrane Journals research every bit of available medical data out there and give an overall finding.
THEY said the flu vaccine is bogus, not me..

BTW, if the mercury in thimerosal was not considered dangerous, why did they remove it from the majority of vaccines amid safety concerns? It’s been removed from most, just not all..

    • There is no evidence that people with Autism are particularly prone to gastrointestinal problems other than associated with their problems eating. Wakefield was the quack who tried to make a big deal of this link. You brought up the link.

Which Elephant did you ignore re your silly example of Sodium? Sodium is dangerous, Salt isn’t. Mercury is dangerous and compounds used as a preservative aren’t. You asked me a question that indicated you hadn’t properly read my post, but I doubt that you properly read anything. Thimerosal has been removed not because it’s dangerous but because quacks like you frightened non scientifically literate people into avoiding the vaccine because it was in it.

That Cochrane Analysis you linked to showed between 2 and 4 times less influenza after vaccination. The simple fact is that few people do get flu in any particular year but those vaccinated generally do not and even where they get an infection with a virus that is not 100% the same as the one vaccinated against they still have less symptoms. Many who do get the flu because they are not vaccinated, especially swine flu, DIE. Many died in the UK last winter. As far as I remember none were vaccinated. In one case a mother wailed that her child died un-necessarily and wasn’t considered for the vaccine. She called on all children to be vaccinated. There is virtually no downside to vaccination and there is a big downside to getting a bad flu, especially swine flu.

I repeat your position is that of a quack. Do you believe that UFOs are from other worlds?

    • 1. Re: autism and specialised diets (due to food intolerances) ask any mental health professional. This is not all about Wakefield, and I was referring to other research, YOU brought up Wakefield as your straw man. I happen to know people who work with autistic clients and I have some friends with Aspergers, all agree, there are gastrointestinal issues involved, many must avoid several foods due to the effect it has on their health.

      2. Swine flu killed less people than the seasonal flu does, in the whole world. It was just another overhyped flu virus (like SARS & Avian Flu), and having caught it and developed natural immunity was demonstrated to have induced immunity to more strains of influenza than the vaccine did. The swine flu vaccine actually put people at a disadvantage. It was this natural immunity that was being studied to come up with the universal flu vaccine.
Oh, and they didn’t actually record whether any of the deaths had been previously vaccinated, so that’s a massive assumption..

      3. 4% is negligible. The versus unvaccinated numbers is dealing with a population with an estimated 80% at sub optimal vitamin D blood serum levels – do you reckon they factored that in? It was a drug trial, of course not.
Nevertheless the mechanism between calciferol and antimicrobial peptides has been established. In fact, the pharmaceutical industry have altered it slightly to secure a patent and have a drug modelled on it – calcitrol. It’s being used to treat a few things, mainly because of the massive amount of data coming out about vitamin D over the past few years..

4.. Your final statement, seriously?? Appeal to ridicule? Do you live in fallacy land? Because your responses certainly would indicate so..

    • Food intolerance is over hyped and often by the same quacks that are anti-vaccine.

Swine fu killed healthy and often young people and saying that fewer people died isn’t much comfort to the parents of a dead child or to the 457 people (70 children) who died from Swine flu in the winter of 2009/2010. Apparently 3 times as many children died from Swine Flu as seasonal flu so your statistics are pretty warped view of reality. The 4% is the percent that were not vaccinated and got the flu versus 1% who were vaccinated and didn’t. It’s still 4 times as many people got the flu because they were unvaccinated. In one research project in the UK, “The researchers also suggested that their findings support the vaccination of children against pandemic influenza A H1N1.”

Here’s a link to a picture of a dying child. Tell me she should’nt have been vaccinated. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jan/12/swine-flu-victim-vaccination

    • Again, ONE study vs a meta analysis.. You clearly dont understand the difference between clinical trials and clinical evidence. Who funded the study? Was there conflicts of interest declared or undeclared? What were the controls? Did the lead name on the article actually partake in the study? Was there any suppressed data or subjects that disappeared from the trial? Remember – these things are not checked before a study enters a med journal (as pointed out by all the articles and videos I suggested you check out, they’re easy to find, and yet you keep relying on sole papers to make your point).

As regards food intolerances, there are many out there intolerant to gluten, lactose, eggs, shellfish etc who would very much disagree with your assertion that it is “overhyped” and “pushed by quacks”.

All of this is diversion from the main topic anyway (I did ask you to ditch the straw man) which was the effectiveness of flu vaccines. The Authors of the Cochrane analysis, people who’s sole job is to interpret medical research, concluded that of 46 years research into flu vaccinations, they were shown to have a moderate effect, and no effect on complications or transmission (which is the reason they are pushed, check the ads) So why does the government push something that is “moderately effective” so aggressively, when it would be cheaper and less likely to cause side effects to ensure that everyone’s blood serum levels of vitamin D were within acceptable levels?

And there you go again, appeal to emotion or belief.. The picture of the dying child..
If you will insist upon relying upon fallacy to make your case then I am wasting my time by continuing to try and point it out. Good day to you.

Some of those DIE un-necessarily. Therefore anti-vaccine quacks kill people.

Here’s a web site that is called the Jenny McCarthy (US based anti-vaccine quack) body count and tries to keep track of the number of people who have not had vaccines who have got ill or died http://jennymccarthybodycount.com/Jenny_McCarthy_Body_Count/Home.html

    • Who is scientifically illiterate?
I have shown you a meta analysis of all the RCTs done on flu vaccines from 1966 – 2010, it says flu vaccines work moderately at best and there is no evidence to show it affects complications or transmission – the primary reason they are pushed and our government spends so much on them. You keep trotting out individual RCTs as though thats better – despite the fact – as I have pointed out several times, 99% of RCTs can later be proven to have been manipulated, using one of the many means available to drug companies to manipulate trials (over 600,000, watch Ben Goldacres TED talk, he’s an epidemiologist – do you know what that is??) as detailed in Harlot Plc, Classical Peer Review: An Empty Gun or any of John Ionnadis work..

Had you read or watched any of this perhaps you would see that your argument is shaky at best.

Not only that, you insist on throwing out fallacies as if they were going out of fashion. Straw men, black and white, ad hominem, appeal to ridicule, appeal to belief and emotion..
Even there in your last response – you throw out Jenny McCarthy as an anti vaccine proponent as though that has any relevance to my point at all. You even throw in the “people die without vaccines” (black and white fallacy) line. You try to insinuate that I am some misguided fool who looked at some celebrity saying “don’t use vaccines” and took them at their word when in fact I have quoted the single most comprehensive study carried out on flu vaccination EVER, and you keep thinking some industry funded singular study trumps that..

You don’t know what clinical evidence is. And you do not know what a fallacy is either. Your argument is completely invalidated by these factors.
And ps – I never said I was against all vaccines – that was YOUR assumption. I am merely voicing my opinion based upon the CLINICAL EVIDENCE.

Your admission that you wish to “rub my face in it” is rather pathetic, ps, you failed :)

    • If that meta study you referred to was that clear cut and that “proved” vaccines were not worth it then they would have been stopped. The study says that for those vaccinated there is as much as a 400% reduction in flu. (I have noticed you quacks have taken to copying and pasting selected studies more in recent years.) Vaccines have wiped out many dangerous illnesses and made others virtually non existent. Because of anti-vaccine quacks there has been an increase in Measles in recent years which has resulted in thousands of cases in the UK alone and several deaths. There is little difference between anti-vaccine quacks in Europe and the religious fanatics in Nigeria who convinced women not to get their children vaccinated on the basis that the white man was trying to make them infertile.

I notice you’ve stopped talking about Mercury compounds in vaccines? Copped on that it’s not the same as Mercury? Have you swallowed any Sodium recently? :))

PS I can’t see any anti-flu vaccine article in Ben Goldacre’s web site.

    • Eh, where did my reply go?
Here it is just in case it disappeared for everyone and not just me..
      What don’t you get?
The authors, the research analysts who actually analysed the research said “Influenza vaccines have a MODEST effect in reducing influenza symptoms and working days lost. There is NO EVIDENCE that they affect complications, such as pneumonia, or transmission.”
(emphasis mine as you seem to be ignoring this important fact)
The ads clearly say that the vaccines are there to prevent complications like pneumonia – as this is usually what causes the deaths – and we are all sold the “herd immunity” line by vaccine proponents. In these two places, the flu vaccine is USELESS.

Why are they still pushing them? Good question.. You know what happened with Vioxx don’t you?
Merck suppressed the fact that at trial stage they noticed that Vioxx, (an NSAID for arthritic conditions) increased the risk of fatal coronary events by up to 40%. This drug was passed by the FDA, on the basis of incomplete and obviously biased research. Many people died. The drug remained on sale. It was only when the cost of paying out in compensation to bereaved relatives started to outweigh the profits from sale that Merck withdrew the drug.

You raise a valid point, if it is shown the drug is not doing its job it should be ditched.. But it doesn’t happen. The last drug this happened with was Avandia. Still legal and deemed safe to prescribe by the FDA, but banned in Europe because it kills people.

I don’t know how many times I have said, Ben Goldacres talk on TED.com, not his website. And the reason I directed you to him was in reference to the reliability of individual studies versus meta analysis. It was he who said there are over 600,000 ways to manipulate results.
Here, watch him yourself.. And FYI, I agree with him on Gillian McKeith. But I will point out vitamin studies differ from drug trials as there are up to 20 pharmaceutically patented forms of vitamin as well as the nature identical form – which skews results, some of these vitamin isolates have indeed been proven very harmful, like synthetic vit E and synthetic Selenium. This should be factored into the parameters but usually is not.

Too fast of chelation, which is removal of heavy metals from the body once they are found, has to be done slowly, so as not to overload the bodies other organs such as the livers/kidneys.

I have been interested in NIACIN and C the study done that I have been reading and I found out it really does help. OK Here are the many problems of individuals who have autism and other disabilities. A regular physician will know little of this since most of it is too specialized and also their small nutrition training.

My passion does not come from wanting to be right or wrong but in making my vaccine injured daughter who is an adult, have a more quality life.

Autism is not just concerned with Vaccines. We don’t usually say to each other that Autism is caused by vaccines but there are plenty of people injured by them or killed by them. That is why when we get our tetanus shots when we get hurt or get our flu shot, (eww) or MMR or whatever, some of that money goes into the vaccine court to pay for those poor ones who died or were seriously damaged by vaccines. There have been a lot of dollars paid out on that already. It is VAERS I think. Even if you are pro every vaccine you are still helping those who get injured by them.

  • First of all, ye both sound as though ye are children in a class room! Mature slightly!

“No vaccine EVER has been tested for mutagenic or carcinogenic properties”. It is a legal requirement that ALL legalised vaccines are checked for mutagenic or carcinogenic properties – I make a reference to the “Children of Thalidomide”, and the lessons learnt there. Drug and genetic testing are some of the most rigorously monitored areas in terms of ethics – to place any person at the mercy of a possible shaky drug would be unethical and down right criminal of the approving body (FDA etc).

To state that the flu vaccine will give you the flu: Wrong. The flu vaccines that do “contain” the flu (not all do), contain antigen doses. This means that a molecular amount of a foreign particle is injected, and the “adaptive” immune system kills this particle off with a sweeping gusto and remembers what that foreign particle looks like (just trust the science on this – I ain’t going into it!)

Autism is a genetic/socio dependent condition – in some sufferers, it is genetic, in others, it is derived from the society that the sufferer finds himself in. This brings into play the “nature versus nurture” dilemma. The author of the paper that alleged autism could be contracted through MMR vaccine has, as stated, being taken off the medical register.

Thimerosal: This (when used – it is not always used – more anon), is used as an anti-septic agent, to prevent the contracting any of the Staphylococcus infections. Thimerosal is not used in routine vaccines for children in most developed countries, and where it is used, is found to not have any toxicity, and has been cleared for further use by none other than the WHO.

Swine Flu: every year there are 2 global epidemics – one in the northern hemisphere winter, one in the southern hemisphere winter. These kill far more people each time than the Swine flu will kill in its’ entire lifetime.

Vitamin D: An odd one here: It acts as a hormone when synthesised in the Kidneys, and regulates the amount of calcium in the body. It acts as a vitamin when consumed orally, providing healthier skin, and stronger bone health. You would want to be consuming a severe amount of Vitamin D for it to be any way dangerous, and should it reach toxic levels, it is simply flushed out by the kidneys.

There are several other untruths mentioned in this article, and as a scientist, it frustrates me when people (for whatever reason) spread untruths, whether knowing this is what they are doing or not, as in the first case, this is malicious, and in the second, irresponsible and shows a lack of understanding. By all means, engage in conversation, but do not get passionate about something you simply cannot or do not understand.

    • Yes.. Those rigorous safety trials that got Vioxx, Bextra, Avandia etc to market?
Or the 1976 swine flu vaccine?

Let’s ignore the billions of dollars spent annually by drug companies on settling damage claims and paying fines for fraudulent behaviour and off label marketing..
Or the fact that every person sitting on the board at the FDA has financial conflicts of interest (shares in the industry they’re supposed to be regulating). The FDA haven’t even banned Avandia despite the fact it raises the risk of fatal coronary events by 40% and while this was discovered at trial stage – that information was not submitted to the FDA, more was hidden (same as bextra and vioxx)

Stringent safety controls alright. The BMJs clinical evidence department says 11% of treatments available work as intended. 13% trade off in harm v benefit, 4% outright harmful, 51% unknown effectiveness.. That doesnt sound like an industry working efficiently, nor do our chronic illness statistics or morbidity rates.

This is why when it comes to drugs, I’ll rely on the clinical evidence rather than single studies :)

  • Many flu vaccines if not all of them still contain thimerasol. Also
Aluminum, and other things that you really dont need in your body. Aluminum, or other metals can trick your body into flushing out needed metals such as zinc, etc.
because the aluminum takes it’s place. Aluminum as an ingredient in a vaccine does not go harmlessly out of the body, it is meant to stay in the body and more or less irritate it into causing a reaction that would hopefully increase the immunological reaction of the vaccine. I would not run and get every vaccine that comes out.
You can easily ask anyone who says anything to show you the research or explain where they are getting their info
You can easily check to see which vaccines do contain thimerasol in them still.

Don’t lose your mind over worrying about vaccines and yet don’t go and get every one of them either just because you can. There is a lot of info on big pharm and once you see they don’t have your best interest at heart then you will see why it is important to educate yourself, Get the vaccine if you must, but only if you must.

  • I would love to see more compassion for those who are injured or killed. Too often, when t his subject is brought up, people go on to hurry and defend their views. There are people hurt and dead. No matter which side you are on when you don’t show you have a compassionate side for those people hurt or k illed, you appear to be less than human.

I k now that Autism and other disabilities are helped by limiting foods, and there is a lot of problems with leaky gut as I would call it in a lot of kids. This is one of the reasons why so many are on no wheat and no milk diet. It helps a large majority of the kids who have autism and other disabilities.
One of the first things a DAN doctor does to treat a c hild is to check diet, do chelation of heavy metals, and you use a hair test for this, not a blood test.
There are a lot of things involved, but the intestinal gut thing that was mentioned is an issue, a very important one in balancing the chemistry and body back of an autistic child.
