THE FINE GAEL Ard Fheis drew to a close in Dublin last night as Taoiseach Enda Kenny delivered his keynote address to delegates.

The event at the Dublin Convention Centre was not without controversy as the blinds were pulled down over the windows looking out onto a protest against the household charge.

There was much focus on the man charged with implementing the tax, Phil Hogan, but the main event went off without a hitch as Taoiseach Enda Kenny told the delegates and the nation: “We will not celebrate until Ireland has reason to celebrate.”
