Japan's meteorological agency says winds will carry radiation to sea

JAPAN’S METEOROLOGICAL AGENCY has said that any radioactive material being emitted from the Fukushima I nuclear plant, where the outer containment building around one plant exploded yesterday, will be carried out to the Pacific Ocean by the overnight wind. It has also confirmed, meanwhile, that the Shinmoedake volcano near the country’s southern tip has also begun to erupt, though it could not ascertain as yet whether the eruption was related to the ongoing seismic activity. The main quake from Friday has been upgraded from magnitude 8.9 to 9, it further added.
