OVER 700 JOBS are set to be created in four counties.

In Longford, C&D Foods today announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art pet food pouch manufacturing facility in Edgeworthstown.

The new facility, an extension to the plant that was built in 2007 following a major fire, will produce pet food pouches for many of Europe’s leading own label brands.

It will be the biggest of its kind in Europe and represents an investment in excess of €15 million.

C&D has invested over €55 million in Edgeworthstown since 2007. It has put €15m into a new pet food pouch manufacturing facility.

The opening will result in 70 new jobs over the next three years, for which hiring has commenced. The project has been supported financially by the Department of Jobs through Enterprise Ireland.

Kildare

In Kildare, phase two of shopping outlet Kildare Village will see 120 construction jobs created and 380 jobs created when the project is completed.

The contract for the project has been awarded to Collen Construction and will bring the total employees at the village to more than 1,000.

Value Retail, developer and operator of Kildare Village, is investing €50 million in the extension – which will house 36 new shops.

Dublin

In Dublin, IT firm Ammeon is creating 30 high-skilled jobs and will hiring both experienced IT professions and graduates.

Galway

Valeo Vision Systems intends to continue its expansion in Tuam, Co. Galway with the creation of up to 140 permanent jobs in research & development and operations in 2014 and 2015.

The company produces systems for cars that focus on reduction of CO2 emissions.
