Not a weekend goes by without a stabbing, shooting or some other senseless incident. Last night we lost a member of the Gardai to Violence. We are losing grip on crime in this country, time for harsher penalties and some serious prison time.

And what is our Goverment’s response. Sure lets close a few of those Garda stations and get rid of some of the poorly paid force. Sure what would we be wanting them for.

It’s time for all judges to step up to the mark and bring some law and order back into this ruined country.

Can anyone suggest a genuine idea as to what we the public can do about the growing culture of violence in this country? I’m no expert, but off the top of my head I would think we need harsh minimum sentences for violent crimes, more (not less) guards. A dedicated prison for repeat violent offenders and zero tolerance towards the possession of weapons. But honestly, what can we the people do? Campaign minister shatter? Take to the streets? All suggestions welcome.
