Man charged with stabbing murder of 25-year-old student in Dublin

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with the murder of student Leo Carolan on Dublin’s South Circular Road  last week.

The body of 25-year-old Carolan, a student at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design, and Technology and aspiring DJ, was discovered in the flat he lived in on Bloomfield Avenue in Dublin 8 last Tuesday.

A second man, a Swiss national, was found seriously injured from stab wounds on the street outside the home.

The 23-year-old man, who is also a student, has been charged with both Carolan’s murder and with assault causing harm to the second man. He was first arrested on Saturday afternoon last.

He has been remanded by a Dublin District Court judge to further appear before Cloverhill District Court this Friday, 14 October, at 10.30am.
