Limerick boy, 6, dies after being hit by car

The boy was hit by a car this afternoon in an area 10 miles east of Limerick city.

A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy has been fatally injured after being struck by a car in Co Limerick.

The accident occurred at around 5pm this evening at Farnane, Murroe, approximately 10 miles east of Limerick city.

The boy, a pedestrian, when he was struck by the car.

The road has been closed pending a Garda forensic examination.

Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact Murroe Garda Station at (061) 386102, the Garda Confidential line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
