GARDAÍ ARRESTED THREE men today as part of a crackdown on crime in Limerick.
Officers from the Limerick division carried out an operation targeting organised crime in the Limerick city and county today.
As part of this operation, three men in their 30’s were arrested. They are currently detained at Henry St and Roxboro Road garda stations under the provisions of Section 30 – Offences against the State Act 1939.
A vehicle was seized during the course of this operation and is currently being technically examined. A firearm was also seized and is being examined.
A number of searches are also underway in the Bruff, Co Limerick area.
Operation Thor
Meanwhile, as part of Operation Thor, gardaí together with Revenue’s customs service carried out a day of action at Labra Park, Dublin 12 on Wednesday 22 February 2017, targeting those in breach of court-related offences and other investigations.
A total of 29 searches were carried out and six people were arrested. Arrests were made in connection with burglary, aggravated burglary, criminal damage, assault, robbery, false imprisonment and drugs offences.
Four people are due to appear before the Criminal Courts at a later date and files have been prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the other two individuals.
