Drive-by shooting at London's Waterloo Bridge leaves man with head injuries

Police say that the surrounding Southbank area was busy with people enjoying their Friday night.

POLICE IN THE UK are investigating a drive-by shooting that happened on the approach to Waterloo Bridge in the heart London City last night.

The incident happened at about 8pm last evening when a black Ford Focus travelling southbound was shot at by someone believed to be on a motorbike.

A 22-year-old man was taken to an east London hospital with head injuries and was later discharged.

Police say that the surrounding Southbank area was busy with people enjoying their Friday night and believe that there would be many people who could have seen the motorcycle fleeing the area.

Three men believed aged 22, 23, and 24 were later arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and remain in custody at various police stations in the city.

Metropolitan Police say that their Trident gang crime force are investigating the shooting.
