Man, 23, charged over Passage West killing

Tony Leahy appeared at Cork District Court today after a young man’s body was discovered on Thursday night.

A 23-YEAR OLD HAS been charged over the killing of a man whose body was found in Passage West, Cork on Thursday night.

Tony Leahy appeared at Cork District Court this afternoon. He was remanded to appear again on Monday.

The body of a 24-year-old man was discovered by a garda on routine patrol in the small village outside Cork city, shortly before midnight on Thursday. It’s believed he may have been stabbed.

Gardaí yesterday classed his death as murder.

The Irish Examiner has named the victim as father-of-two Jonathan Keneally Daly.
