Investigation launched into Cork death

The 24-year-old man is believed to have been stabbed.

GARDAÍ ARE investigating the death of a 24-year-old man in Co Cork who appears to have been stabbed.

The man’s body was found by gardaí on a routine patrol in Passage West shortly before midnight last night.

The body remains at the scene this morning.

The area has been sealed off for a forensic examination and the state pathologist’s office has been notified.

A man in his 20s has been arrested by gardaí for questioning in connection with the incident and is being held at Togher Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
