Man dies in fatal stabbing in Cork

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were arrested close to the scene in the early hours of this morning.

GARDAÍ IN CORK are investigating after a man in his 30s was stabbed to death at a house in the city in the early hours of the morning.

The fatal stabbing happened on Infirmary Road shortly after 2am. The victim, who was from the area, was taken to Cork University Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Two people, a man and a woman, were arrested close to the scene. Both are being held at the Bridewell Garda Station in Cork.

The scene on Infirmary Road has been preserved pending an examination by Garda Crime Scene Investigators.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident or anyone with information on the stabbing to contact them at Anglesea Street Station on 021 4522 000.
