Man suffers serious burns after central Dublin gas explosion

A woman and child were also involved and are being treated for shock. Gardaí are investigating.

A MAN HAS suffered serious burns following a gas explosion at a flat in Pearse Street in central Dublin this afternoon.

The explosion happened at Pearse House on Pearse Street just after 4pm today. The man was taken to St James’s Hospital where he is being treated for serious burn injuries.

A woman and child were also taken to the hospital and are said to be suffering from shock.

The flats have been evacuated and gardaí have sealed off the area pending a technical examination. Bord Gais is also on the scene.
