Masked men with hammers smash up house with toddler inside

The men broke windows and caused damage to the kitchen and bathroom, but no one was injured in the incident.

FOUR MASKED MEN armed with hammers forced their way into a house in Belfast last night while two women and a toddler were inside.

Police say the incident occurred in the Moyard Parade area at 8pm. The men forced their way into the house, and threatened the female occupant before causing damage to the bathroom and kitchen and smashing a number of windows in the house.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was not injured, but was “left shaken by her ordeal”, according to police. Another woman and a three-year-old boy were also in the house at the time but were uninjured.

The men are all described as wearing dark clothing with their faces covered. They made off on foot along Moynard Parade.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
