WITH LESS THAN an hour to go before midnight in Sydney, Australia, this is what they do to keep the thousands entertained.
Not bad for something that isn’t even the main event.
We swear we’re not jealous… much.

Anyone have details on dublin’s fireworks display tonight? (location/time?)
The poorly designed website isn’t working, but what else would we expect!
Irish cities generally don’t make enough of an effort for New Years eve events! It’s always a bit of an anticlimax with almost no spectacular fireworks!
It’s not the weather either, Edinburgh pulls it off and they’ve an even worse climate to contend with!
Here in Australia the general population aren’t allowed to buy or discharge fireworks – too many missing fingers etc with folk doing silly things. This has been the case for decades. The public shows put on by many city councils and local authorities more than make up for the thrill of amateur pyromaniacs ‘having a go’ and being a danger to us all. The ‘sparkles’ were fabulous here in Brisbane, but we all secretly want to be in Sydney just once to see their show.
Pfff! Whatevs. It’ll have nothing on The Gathering!!!
Christ, they won’t even let us have fireworks here. We must be the only country in the only world to have them illegal ffs
