Man charged after staff at Dublin McDonald's threatened with knife

The man demanded money from staff but left empty-handed.

A 47-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged after an attempted robbery at a McDonald’s restaurant in Phibsboro, Dublin, yesterday.

A man with a knife entered the fast-food restaurant at 1.55pm and threatened staff, demanding money. He left the scene empty handed, however, and was arrested a short distance away.

No one was injured in the incident.

He was brought to Mountjoy Garda Station where he was held overnight. He has been charged in connection with the incident and gardaí said he will appear at the Central Criminal Court at 10.30am this morning.
