IRISH PEOPLE ARE being asked for their input on new rules for how food and drink products target children.
Today the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland launched the call as part of a possible overhaul of the Children’s Commercial Communications Code. Currently, the code asks the food and drink industry to act responsibly towards children in their marketing campaigns.
However, one of the proposals being looked at is that certain foods be designated HFSS (foods high in fat, salt and sugar) and marketing of those foods greatly restricted.
Do you think there should be a complete ban on the advertising of HFSS or so-called ‘junk’ foods and drinks?
