Ryanair brings Irish Independent and journalist to court

The journalist has recently been reporting on pay talks Ryanair has been having with pilots.

RYANAIR IS BRINGING the Irish Independent, and one of its reporters, to court.

The budget airline is listed as plaintiff in a case against Independent Newspapers (Ireland) Ltd, trading as Irish Independent, and John Mulligan.

The case will be heard at the High Court.

Mulligan is a business journalist at the newspaper and has reported substantially on the pay talks Ryanair has been having with pilots.

In a separate case, Ryanair is taking defamation action against RPG founders Evert Van Zwol, John Goss and Ted Murphy over an email they sent to pilots in 2013.

When contacted by TheJournal.ie, Ryanair said that it does not comment on pending legal cases.
