Man in his 50s shot dead in Limerick

The man was shot in the head in Mountfune.

A MAN HAS been killed in a shooting in Limerick.

The man in his 50s was pronounced dead just after 5pm today, having been shot in the head around 3pm. Gardaí in Bruff are investigating, having received a call at 3.10pm that a man had been shot at Mountfune, Murroe, Limerick.

The scene is currently preserved pending a Garda technical investigation and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

Gardaí in Bruff are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any information to contact them on 061-382940 the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
